This procedure acts on the ion channels in the sweat glands. Hands and feet are placed into a container of water and a weak electrical current is produced. This disrupts the exchange of ions in the gland, disrupting the production of sweat. However, this treatment needs to be used 3-5 days a week in order to be effective, and does not work for everyone.
